Strathcarron is situated near to Lochcarron on the west coast of the
Scottish Highlands, and is approximately 63 miles from Inverness.
By road, it is approached from the south via 2 possible
routes.
Either:- via Inverness using the A9, A832, & A890;
Or:- via Glen Coe and Fort William, passing through
Glen Shiel where there are associations with Bonnie Prince Charlie and the
'45 (A82, A87, & A890).
By rail, the approach is via the very scenic Inverness
to Kyle of Lochalsh line, alighting at Strathcarron Station (Blackwood
Croft lies on a very quiet side road approximately 1 mile north east of
the railway station).
